Leading Edge Energy recently attended the Australian Pork Association’s pan-Asia meeting in Queensland. Many of the pork industry leaders are realising they can turn their waste products into a valuable asset.

One such way of doing so is biogas generation that captures the methane gas produced from pig waste, which is then burned to produce energy.

Biogas generation can reduce net energy consumption to zero, such is the value of the methane generated.

Have you recently installed generation or are looking into it?

Leading Edge Energy can assist with ensuring you are on the appropriate network tariff for your current consumption. If you have recently reduce your consumption significantly, you could be paying far too much on daily network charges and demand charges. We can also assist with securing the best price for any energy sold back into the grid.

Biogas generation too big an investment?

Clean Energy Finance funding is available to help with the startup costs. Alternatively, there are many other things farmers are doing right now to reduce their costs such as solar, LED lights, hydronic heating, variable speed ventilation, and better energy rates.
